Fiber Structure and Dimensional Bulk

High Loft Quilting Substrates are engineered with a loose, thick structure, typically using specialized low-denier polyester fibers or blends that maximize air retention and provide significant surface height (loft). This material is primarily designed to be quilted with the mattress ticking, providing Enhanced Softness and Visual Depth to the final product. The fibers are often siliconized to reduce friction during the high-speed quilting process and to maintain the loft after compression and repeated use. Metrics focus on minimizing weight while maximizing the Thickness-to-Weight Ratio.

The stability of the substrate is critical to prevent shifting or bunching during and after the quilting process.
