Conductive mattress fabric is a technical textile incorporating conductive filaments (stainless steel, carbon, or silver-coated fibers) within the yarn structure to provide electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection and electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding. The conductive fibers are integrated during spinning or knitting, creating a continuous conductive network throughout the fabric. Surface resistivity ranges from 10² to 10⁶ Ω/sq depending on loading and fiber type. The fabric dissipates static charge buildup from friction during normal use, reducing dust attraction and static shock. Available in custom specifications: conductive fiber content 1-10% by weight, fabric weight 180-450 gsm, width 180-240 cm, in circular knit, warp knit, or woven constructions. For general ESD-safe bedding, surface resistivity of 10⁵-10⁶ Ω/sq is typical. For critical environments requiring rapid charge dissipation (electronics manufacturing), lower resistivity of 10²-10⁴ Ω/sq is available with higher conductive fiber loading. Your required resistivity range can be specified during sample development.

Can the conductive fabric be washed without losing its properties?

Yes. Conductive fibers are integrated within the yarn structure, not surface-coated. Performance retention after 50 industrial wash cycles is ≥90%. To maximize longevity, wash at ≤40°C with neutral detergent and avoid chlorine bleach, which can oxidize metal fibers. Air dry or low heat (≤60°C) recommended.

What is the minimum order quantity for custom conductive fabric?

MOQ is 1,000 linear meters for standard conductive formulations (stainless steel fibers, 2-5% loading). Higher loading (8-10%) or precious metal fibers (silver-coated) require 2,000 meters. Sample rolls (10-30 meters) are available for performance testing and resistivity verification.

Does the fabric provide EMI shielding in addition to ESD protection?

Yes. With conductive fiber loading of 5% or higher, the fabric provides 30-60 dB attenuation across 30 MHz to 1 GHz frequency range. For applications requiring higher shielding effectiveness (>60 dB), we offer multi-layer constructions or increased conductive content. Is the fabric compatible with flame retardant finishes?

Yes. Conductive fabrics can be combined with flame retardant (FR) finishes for applications requiring both ESD protection and fire safety. FR treatments include both topical (dry-cure) and intrinsic (fiber-level) options. Lead time for FR + conductive combination is 40-50 working days.
